Uzbekistan decided on March 18 to close down its border with Afghanistan, however, entering the country by air was still possible.
A few days later, the Asian country stepped up measures and imposed regulations to close down the capital city of Tashkent, where cases of Covid19 are reported. The cities of Samarkand, Namangan, Andijan, and Gulistan were added to this list on March 26.
The president of Uzbekistan ordered all borders to be closed and that everyone needs to wear protective masks in public.
