Belizean authorities stepped up measures and announced on March 20 a complete travel ban to all foreigners, except for those with a valid resident permit. All nationals and residents coming back into the country are subject to a medical inspection and a possible 14-day mandatory quarantine period.
People from Belize are not allowed anymore to travel outside of the country unless it is for an emergency reason. All international air travel has been suspended, except for cargo and freight.
The Belizean government decided to shut down all international air travel to prevent the coronavirus from further spreading in the Central-American nation.
Additionally, all events and gatherings with more than 25 people have been banned.
April 3: The Prime Minister of Belize announced that all borders will also be closed for Belizeans returning to the country.
